10 Requirements of CTEIG
The State of California approved a three-year grant opportunity, the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant (CTEIG), for the purpose of helping students in grades K—12 develop the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in college and careers. The goal for grant recipients is to enhance, expand, and/or create strong CTE programs that not only match the state’s ten program requirements, but that can also be sustained into the future utilizing locally controlled funding after the grant period has expired.
The 2015–2017 CTEIG grant recipients were awarded in January and March of 2016. The grant period for these recipients runs through June 30, 2017. For information on the next grant award period, click here.
What are the CTEIG program requirements?
According to the California Department of Education, all of the following program requirements must be addressed in grant applications. Applicants do not need to be successful in all 10 in order to be a grant recipient; however, a plan to achieve success must be included in the application.
Matching Funds
Applicants must also provide a matching fund dollar amount for the grant amount proposed. The matching funds vary each term and are based on the following:
2015–2017 funding term: $1.00 for every $1.00 received from the grant
2016–2018 funding term: $1.50 for every $1.00 received from the grant
2017–2019 funding term: $2.00 for every $1.00 received from the grant
Through increases in other funding streams, recipients can be better prepared to sustain and maintain their enhanced CTE program at the local level once the grant funding expires.
